Is a mythical figure in Irish folklore, known as a female spirit or supernatural being whose appearance or wailing heralds the death of a family member. Typically described as a ghostly woman, she may be depicted as young and beautiful or old and withered, often wearing a grey cloak over a green dress, with long, streaming hair. The Banshee's haunting cry—often likened to the sound of mourning, keening, or lamentation—can be heard from afar and is believed to forewarn those of Irish descent of impending death or tragedy within their family.

In various folklore interpretations, the Banshee is thought to be a manifestation of ancestral spirits who mourn family losses and can only be heard by those with Irish blood. Although sometimes feared, the Banshee is not inherently malicious; rather, she serves as a harbinger of sorrow or as a guide to the spirit world, reminding people of their ancestral bonds.
